Super duplex stainless-steel valves provide higher strength and improved resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion compared with Duplex 2205. They may be considered for severe seawater, offshore and chloride-bearing process duties where Duplex 2205 does not provide the required corrosion resistance or mechanical performance. Speciality Valve manufactures Super Duplex stainless-steel valves for applications requiring these material characteristics. Grade, trim and sealing-system selection should consider chloride concentration, temperature, pressure, process chemistry and fabrication requirements. Super Duplex Ball Valve: Quarter-turn isolation valve for compatible corrosive pipeline and process service. Super Duplex Butterfly Valve: Quarter-turn isolation or regulation for compatible corrosive process piping. Super Duplex Check Valve: Automatic prevention of reverse flow in compatible process lines. Super Duplex Gate Valve: Straight-through isolation with low flow restriction when fully open. Super Duplex Globe Valve: Used for throttling and controlled flow regulation. Super Duplex Knife Gate Valve: Isolation valve for compatible slurry or suspended-solids service, where the selected knife-gate design is suitable. Body: Selected Super Duplex stainless-steel grade according to valve design and service requirements. Trim: Selected corrosion-resistant material compatible with the Super Duplex body grade and complete process conditions. Stem: Selected Super Duplex or specified corrosion-resistant material according to valve design and service requirements. Seat: Metal-seated or design-specific soft-seat arrangement. Packing: Graphite, PTFE or suitable chemical-resistant material. Gasket: Graphite, PTFE or compatible sealing material. The component materials should be matched to the valve design and service conditions. Super Duplex should be selected where the verified chloride level, temperature, localized-corrosion risk or mechanical requirement exceeds the suitable operating range of Duplex 2205. The body, trim, stem, seat and packing must be reviewed together because a Super Duplex body alone does not make the complete valve suitable for severe service. UNS S32750 / F53 / EN 1.4410: Super Duplex 2507 with high strength and strong resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion in suitable service conditions. UNS S32760 / F55: Offers high strength and resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride stress-corrosion cracking in suitable environments. F61: The exact underlying material specification and designation should be confirmed before including this grade in the supplied range. Choice of grade should be based on chloride concentration, temperature, pressure, corrosion conditions and mechanical stresses. Inspection and testing can include material grade verification, dimensional inspection, traceability checks, hardness testing, pressure testing and seat leakage testing. Positive Material Identification: Where specified for material verification. Material Certification and Traceability: Review of certificates and material records. Material Grade / Chemistry Verification: Through certification, PMI or specified inspection requirements. Dimensional Inspection: Verification of critical valve dimensions and connections. Hardness Testing: Where required by the material or project specification. Hydrostatic Body Testing: Verification of pressure integrity. Seat Leakage Testing: Verification of seat tightness. Functional Operation Checks: Verification of valve operation. Non-Destructive Examination: Where specified according to component, material form and project requirements. Metallurgical Examination: Where required to verify material condition and project requirements. Pressure and leakage testing may follow API 598, ISO 5208 or applicable project requirements, depending on valve design. Seawater Intake and Discharge: Selected isolation or flow-control duties where Super Duplex is verified against chloride level, temperature and flow conditions. Offshore Process and Utility Systems: Valve duties exposed to chloride-bearing environments requiring higher localized-corrosion resistance than Duplex 2205. Desalination Systems: High-chloride water duties where Super Duplex is justified by the process conditions. Produced-Water / Injection-Water Service: Selected offshore duties involving chloride-rich water. Corrosive Chemical Transfer: Services where the complete chemistry supports Super Duplex selection. Cooling-Water Systems: Selected high-chloride cooling-water duties after material compatibility review. Material compatibility must be evaluated across the complete wetted assembly. A Super Duplex body alone does not ensure suitability if trim, stem, seating or sealing materials are not compatible with the chloride level, temperature, pressure and process chemistry. Share the chloride concentration, operating temperature, pressure and process chemistry with Speciality Valve to confirm whether Super Duplex is required over Duplex 2205.Super Duplex Valve Manufacturer in India
